Remembering Christianity 1000 Years Ago

I love God’s creation.  I love seeing Him with every step that I take.  Today I saw God in so many ways.  I had the incredible blessing of touring Margaret’s Island in Budapest, Hungary.  Thanks to an app on my iphone called “Pocket Guide”, I was able to learn some amazing history about this tiny island.  Here’s some pictures:

These first two were taken along the Danube River, with the Hungarian flag in the background.  I’m have a growing love for the people of Hungary.  May they find hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ.

Margaret’s Island was first settled around 1100 a.d. by monks.  It’s a beautiful island with rich history.  This chapel was originally built in 1100.  It was destroyed in 1540 by the Turks, but in 1930 the relics were used to rebuild it.  The church bell, which was built in the 1400’s, was found in 1930 buried in the ground and is now placed in the steeple.  Amazing!

Below is a picture of the original altar from Saint Margaret’s monastery that was built in the 1200’s.  Margaret was the daughter of King Béla IV of Hungary.  She lived in the Dominican monastery on the island.  It was an incredible blessing to stand on the ground where almost 1000 years ago Christians worshiped the same Lord that I worship today.  Jesus will be worshiped today, yesterday, and forever more!

India Pictures and Prayer Request

Dear Loved Ones,

Thank you so much for your prayers.  These past five days have had some of the most powerful ministry experiences in my life.  We are seeing many Hindus converted by the power of the Gospel, and we are facing MUCH opposition from the Enemy.  There are so many stories but I can only share a few.  Last night we had a gospel outreach in a village that has never had anything like that before.  God came and powerfully blessed the preaching of the gospel.  We have been preaching an unadulterated gospel message and calling people to turn from idolatry and embrace Christ the Lord for the forgiveness of sins.  There is an indescribable joy of looking into the teary eyes of people who have come forward at the end of the message to repent and receive Christ.  There seems to be a genuineness and hunger for Truth and Salvation, while at the same time Satan is throwing everything he can at us, from big bugs biting my feet while preaching, or a demon-possessed man screaming and flailing his arms at the end of a message, or the police threatening to arrest us, kicking us out of their city, and saying that our camera tripod was a weapon.  This land is dark, but there is a harvest field to be had like I have never seen before.

On Monday, today, and Tuesday we will have a pastor's conference.  Many of these pastors are beaten for their faith and minister in some of the hardest areas of the world.  Please pray for them to be encouraged, strengthened, and to persevere in their calling to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

On Tuesday night we will be having a large gospel outreach where I will be preaching.  Please pray that many would repent, trust Christ, and drink from the Fountain of Living Water.  Wednesday we have one last outreach, and then I leave for Budapest on Thursday.

Thank you for your prayers.  May God continue to pour His Spirit and "bring many sons to glory" for the sake of His great name!

Last Monday and Tuesday Night Outreaches:

Please pray for these people who came forward to repent and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior!

We held an outreach on Wednesday night in an unreached village called Edlanka.  7 came forward to receive Christ.  Please pray for a church to be planted here.  This woman is a believer who opened her house to us and helped us with the outreach in this small village.

On Wednesday/Thursday we went to an area of India where we tried to have a Pastor's Conference but the police stopped us.  This is one of the darkest areas I have ever ministered in.
Persecuted Pastors:

The team praying together in the hotel room while Vijay was questioned by police:

Last night, after the preaching, this woman, Mary, was brought to us on a cart.  She's a believer.  On the way home from church she fell and broke her leg and is unable to walk and in great pain.  We prayed for healing. She straightened her leg and said that the pain went away.  May God truly heal her and show the world that He is the Risen Christ, the Healer of Hearts.

May Jesus Christ be glorified in India and in the nations.  Love you much!
