Remembering Christianity 1000 Years Ago

I love God’s creation.  I love seeing Him with every step that I take.  Today I saw God in so many ways.  I had the incredible blessing of touring Margaret’s Island in Budapest, Hungary.  Thanks to an app on my iphone called “Pocket Guide”, I was able to learn some amazing history about this tiny island.  Here’s some pictures:

These first two were taken along the Danube River, with the Hungarian flag in the background.  I’m have a growing love for the people of Hungary.  May they find hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ.

Margaret’s Island was first settled around 1100 a.d. by monks.  It’s a beautiful island with rich history.  This chapel was originally built in 1100.  It was destroyed in 1540 by the Turks, but in 1930 the relics were used to rebuild it.  The church bell, which was built in the 1400’s, was found in 1930 buried in the ground and is now placed in the steeple.  Amazing!

Below is a picture of the original altar from Saint Margaret’s monastery that was built in the 1200’s.  Margaret was the daughter of King Béla IV of Hungary.  She lived in the Dominican monastery on the island.  It was an incredible blessing to stand on the ground where almost 1000 years ago Christians worshiped the same Lord that I worship today.  Jesus will be worshiped today, yesterday, and forever more!

India Pictures and Prayer Request

Dear Loved Ones,

Thank you so much for your prayers.  These past five days have had some of the most powerful ministry experiences in my life.  We are seeing many Hindus converted by the power of the Gospel, and we are facing MUCH opposition from the Enemy.  There are so many stories but I can only share a few.  Last night we had a gospel outreach in a village that has never had anything like that before.  God came and powerfully blessed the preaching of the gospel.  We have been preaching an unadulterated gospel message and calling people to turn from idolatry and embrace Christ the Lord for the forgiveness of sins.  There is an indescribable joy of looking into the teary eyes of people who have come forward at the end of the message to repent and receive Christ.  There seems to be a genuineness and hunger for Truth and Salvation, while at the same time Satan is throwing everything he can at us, from big bugs biting my feet while preaching, or a demon-possessed man screaming and flailing his arms at the end of a message, or the police threatening to arrest us, kicking us out of their city, and saying that our camera tripod was a weapon.  This land is dark, but there is a harvest field to be had like I have never seen before.

On Monday, today, and Tuesday we will have a pastor's conference.  Many of these pastors are beaten for their faith and minister in some of the hardest areas of the world.  Please pray for them to be encouraged, strengthened, and to persevere in their calling to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

On Tuesday night we will be having a large gospel outreach where I will be preaching.  Please pray that many would repent, trust Christ, and drink from the Fountain of Living Water.  Wednesday we have one last outreach, and then I leave for Budapest on Thursday.

Thank you for your prayers.  May God continue to pour His Spirit and "bring many sons to glory" for the sake of His great name!

Last Monday and Tuesday Night Outreaches:

Please pray for these people who came forward to repent and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior!

We held an outreach on Wednesday night in an unreached village called Edlanka.  7 came forward to receive Christ.  Please pray for a church to be planted here.  This woman is a believer who opened her house to us and helped us with the outreach in this small village.

On Wednesday/Thursday we went to an area of India where we tried to have a Pastor's Conference but the police stopped us.  This is one of the darkest areas I have ever ministered in.
Persecuted Pastors:

The team praying together in the hotel room while Vijay was questioned by police:

Last night, after the preaching, this woman, Mary, was brought to us on a cart.  She's a believer.  On the way home from church she fell and broke her leg and is unable to walk and in great pain.  We prayed for healing. She straightened her leg and said that the pain went away.  May God truly heal her and show the world that He is the Risen Christ, the Healer of Hearts.

May Jesus Christ be glorified in India and in the nations.  Love you much!

India Prayer Update

Dear Loved Ones,

Thank you so much for your prayers for India.  On Monday and Tuesday night we held evangelistic outreaches.  God moved on the hearts and around 60 people came forward to repent and ask for forgiveness.  Many were weeping with tears of repentance.  I don't want to ever forget looking into their faces and seeing the joy of being born again that some of them expressed.  To God be the glory!  We were all very blessed to see that the harvest field is ripe.   These messages were recorded by a T.V. station and will be aired throughout Andra Pradesh in the weeks to come.  Please pray for more souls to be saved.

Last night we had an amazing meeting in a small village called Edlanka.  This is an unreached village.  They don’t have a church and there is no presence of the gospel in this village.  In October of 2010 our church helped rebuild this village after it was destroyed by a flood.  A few months later we came with a team and went to every house giving them bibles.  It was a harvest field.  Many hearts were broken and ready to receive Christ.  It was amazing.  One woman said she had been praying for someone to come and give her a bible.  She was in tears.

Returning to Edlanka last night gave me great joy.  About 120 people came to the outreach last night, which is amazing because the size of the village is about 200 people.  Many of the people who came last night were carrying the bibles we gave them last year!  Eight came forward after the gospel call.  Praise the Lord.  BUT it breaks my heart to see them so hungry for God and yet no church to disciple them and feed them.  BUT this is why we are partnering with Vijay Sastry, a good friend of mine, who plants churches among the unreached (here’s his website if you are interested in seeing: http://reachallnations.org/ ).  God has used Vijay to plant about 80 churches in India.  His dad, mom, sister, and brothers are committed to this ministry.  He trains men who want to be pastors and then continues to help support them financially.  I remember pastors tell me that they and their family had to sacrifice eating rice so that they could continue to preach the gospel.  Wow!  We are praying and asking God to raise up an Indian pastor to come to Edlanka and other villages like it.  God is faithful.  He can do it.

Today the team will travel to an area where Vijay’s ministry has never been before.  It is about a 10 hour car ride.  This area is more hostile towards the gospel but we are trusting Christ and we appreciate your prayers.  On Friday and Saturday we will be having a pastor’s conference in this area with about 200 Indian pastors.  Our prayer is that we can bless them, encourage them, and God-willing, sow into their ministry in the future to help them get the gospel to the unreached of India.

I will try to send pictures once I get them online.  Thank you for your prayers.  Our team is healthy and strong.  We’ve seen lots of opposition but God has protected us and he is saving souls!

Below is a picture of me in the Gospel-Media Studio of Reach All Nations.  With your help and partnership this studio has been built to bring the Gospel message and Gospel music to India.  Please pray that the Word of Christ would go forth with power from this studio.

May the Lord strengthen you and encourage your hearts this morning.  I am praying for you all.  May India and all the nations worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Ephesians 3:20-21   “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,  21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

In Christ's Love,
Justin Hoover
